Learning & Sharing Session – “Standard Operating Procedures Framework”
SCIC’s Process and Engineering Committee is organising a Learning & Sharing Session – “Standard Operating Procedures Framework”.
A standard operating procedure (SOP) is a set of step-by-step instructions compiled by an organisation to help workers carry out routine operations. SOP aims to achieve efficiency, quality output and uniformity of performance, while reducing miscommunication and failure to comply to industry regulations. Hence, a well-written SOP can be used to satisfy compliance requirements. SOPs are recommended for all procedures that pose a potential risk to the health and safety of personnel.
In this Learning & Sharing Session, participants will have an understanding on how to formulate an effective SOP and the sharing of case studies will provide participants with the awareness on the pitfalls of SOP. The consultative review will provide an opportunity for participants to bring along page(s) of SOP to review with the facilitator.
